Dear Mr Leong,
How would you evaluate Hong Kong's executive-led model? What improvements would you like to see?

JUST A LAUGH
When you laugh, it echoes around the world
and lifts up the spirit of all living things.
One pure, joyous laugh!
Like a butterfly's wings, gently but surely
change the currents of air on the planet,
your happiness alters the whole of creation.
It hightens the mood
it deepens the love
it brightens the day of the many,
it blesses the Earth
when you laugh.

Dear Mr. Leung,
Thanks and Cheers for your determination, boldness and bravery! You and your team have performed very well in the Election Campaign.
I hope you won't be disappointed by the fewer no. of votes given to you in comparison with the no. of nominations for you. Personally I think it's your success in forcing Donald Tsang to make more "promises" which in turn might help him to win more votes.
Please be assured that you've already done beautifully despite of your disadvantage in terms of govt work experience, relationship with Mainland China and connections with the Business Sector.
Keep it up and our support will be with you! |

This is an extract from a newsletter (Editor:
Mr Chen S B - President of Taiwan)
Do U agree? I don't think so.
WE support U |

First, I want to praise your effort in advancing the democratic development of HK. I guess the success hinges on the message making sense to all people in HK, including those relatives of the vested interest groups (e.g. various China-appointed representatives of HK). Second, I want to post my disgust to Donald Tsang's show of thanks to the public on his website, but I can't because it was gone! That again shows that if not for Alan entering the contest, Donald would definitely NOT put up a public show. Alan, thanks again! |

Dear Mr. Leung,
Congratulations for your success in going through the whole CE election process!
Before I met you in person, I did not know anything about you except that you are a 'Bar' by profeesion. After I heard your sharing in the New Forum office in Wanchai last Tuesday, I admire your courage and commitment to fight a 'sure-lose' battle. In fact I am not a member of the New Forum, it was just that my ex-colleague is a close friend of some New Forum members and we just happened to have time to attend the seminar after our buiness meeting in Wan Chai!
I believe you learnt a lot from the process, so as people in Hong Kong. The whole election process - the campaigns, visits, debates etc. enable Hong Kong people to grow and be more mature in our political awareness. Personally I do not support full election in year 2012 as I am worry that Hong Kong people are not really that mature when compare to our western counterparts. The experiences in Taiwan was even a fiasco!
However, I have a strong believe that we are now walking on the right track towards full election in the years to come. The most important thing is that an election with competition really 'awakened' our government, and even the 'big guys' in Beijing. They are forced to 'open up' their ears to really listen to how we think and what we want! This is already a big leap forward for a better Hong Kong.
Keep up the good work and your passion. Like most successful politicians in the world, almost no one can be successful at the first instance. In fact I believe you already made the history in the political areana of Hong Kong. Afterall, you are still 'young'(in terms of a politician's life!) and I am sure Hong Kong people can work together to build our future.
Best regards,
Patricia LAI

You did a great job no matter you lost 10 votes finally.
At least I believe our CE will strive to fulfill the citizens' needs, to improve the social shortcomings in different areas.
Thank you for your hard work.
